This is a smooth version of the 4c model. It is recommended instead of the checkered version for pearl and metallic effects, since smooth grips show off the swirls and translucent effects better than checkered surfaces.

The kit comes with two grip panels, and four spacer blocks. The spacer blocks need to be sanded to fit into the frame recesses so they keep the grip panels from turning. The blocks are to be epoxy glued to the back of the grips, and then sanded to proper thickness (about .051 inches).

The panels mount to the gun using either the two original screws which come with your gun, or by using a No.2 screw mounting kit (brass ferrule and press-in nut fit into the grip mounting holes, and allow the two panels to be "clamped" onto the frame. The two threaded holes in the frame are aligned, and allow a single No.2 screw to pass through. You can indicate the desired mounting method above. The options are (1) use existing screws that come with the gun, or (2) get the grips with the single-screw mounting kit installed, or (3) get the grips with holes for original screws, and have the screw-mount kit sent uninstalled so you can decide to install it later if you wish.

The dimensions of the grips are:

Length of front edge = 2.49 inch
Length of top edge = 1.42 inch
Approximate thickness of grips = 0.150 inch
Screw hole center to rear edge = 0.30 inch
Screw hole center to bottom edge = 1.29 inch
Thickness of spacer blocks = 0.051 inch
